became interested in Morihei Ueshiba while engaged in the United States Army, in Alaska; post military serving government in DC, trained at Shobukan and helped care for dojo, then soon after invited to live at Aikido Shobukan Dojo temporarily, then remained under the graces of Saotome Sensei, Patty, and the dojo-cho for nearly a decade as resident, studying, meditating, and training, and instructing 1:1 and to small personal groups between regularly scheduled classes. increased meditative practices and studies, developed solo practices. helped sensei during visits, shopping, driving, museums, VIP guests, promoting aikido, and protecting sensei’s and o’sensei’s honor. through members, met Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche and took bodhisattva vows and empowerment’s, and left the dojo for a ten year walkabout in secular life, then returned, having changed.
the approach is very similar with how sensei,
and o’sensei transmitted. it is direct, mind to mind,
