A laboratory modeled after Sensei’s (Mitsugi Saotome Shihan) vision of a budo (stop spear way) research laboratory is right here, right now. Standing upon the far wall at Aikido Shobukan Dojo, rests a sign pointing to this vision and it is innovated here. As a researcher, methodologies of physical, vocal, meditative, scientific, and religious enquiry are enjoined in an effort to study and innovate that great way illuminated by the divine through Morihei Ueshiba, aikido, takemusu aiki, and shobu aiki.
