Shugyōkai dojos meeting the eligibility of the following understands the Shugyōkai declaration, practices shugyō guidelines, lives narrow-flow differentiation, and exemplifies marketing as demonstration.
The following guidelines are fundamental principles for training practices within the Shugyōkai, derived from the ARC-FLOW framework (Space-Coyote & OpenAI ChatGPT-5 Pro, 2025a).
Informed, continual reconsiderable consent rights and non-punitive withdrawal rights.
Three mentors required; prohibition of sole dependency; selection of mentors from different social and professional fields.
The following narrow flow differentiation guidance is based on the “Ten Facets of Service Differentiation” (Kapferer & Bastien, 2009), structuring “flow state” as a vector (see Csikszentmihalyi, 1997), and integrates SDT/ARC-FLOW (Ryan & Deci, 2000; Space-Coyote & OpenAI ChatGPT-5 Pro, 2025a).

Facets of Service Differentiation on Flow Vector with SDT needs (Csikszentmihalyi, 1997; Kapferer & Bastien, 2009; Ryan & Deci, 2000)
The following marketing guidance is based on Uber Branding’s Golden Star (Schaefer & Kuehlwein, 2016), structured along Flow State as a vector (see Csikszentmihalyi, 1997), and integrated with ARC-FLOW (Space-Coyote & OpenAI ChatGPT-5 Pro, 2025a).

Dōjō Standards
Mats
Dōjō in Shugyōkai use stretched canvas over thin rubber mats on plywood sheet set upon floating wooden box frames. We do not use commercial mats. The purpose of this surface is to allow for sliding to teach course correction of whole body motion amidst instability, imprint and develop skill to re-project planar surfaces on demand, and to correct for non-synchronized movement across a planar surface.
Safety
At least two students per class shall maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR training. A first aid kit inclusive of a healthy supply of duct tape, hydrogen peroxide (for lifting blood out of canvas/materials), and disinfectant shall be available at all times.
Notes
1 Styling is continually refreshed in new lines (e.g., seasonality) within a brand (Kapferer & Bastien, 2009); attachment to style leads to being passed up by client growth. As Saotome sensei professes, “no style”; styling is continually created on demand.
