Variation on 雄叫び – otakebi; “war‑cry; heroic shout” also names a vocal/breath practice in Ueshiba’s circle.
When used in some of O-Sensei’s waka as norito, 雄叫び is followed by “… yasen”, a classical volitional which carries an exhortatory, liturgical ring (e.g. “let [it] be raised”) and in another, is followed by “semu” which expresses volition / intention (e.g., “[I] will]”; cf. Ueshiba 1977/2025a, Ueshiba 1977/2025b).
