Aiki Furitama Commentaries

When preparing for furitama, grasp with the left side of the body, the right side. The left side of <the|a> heart, spine, shoulder, arm, to hand holds the entire weight and structure of the right side of <the|a> hand, arm, shoulder, spine, to heart. The grip is different than if either side is evenly gripping, and may reveal inconsistencies in developmental processes like a tree once grown cannot ungrow to regrow a different shape (or can it? ;). Be sure to get the grip right or the entire shake-process (i.e., heating process [i.e. melting process]) will unravel, though unraveling is useful, but not in this micro-context. | When preparing for furitama, grasp with the left side of the body, the right side. Shake with the holding side vigorously in such a way that the right’s movement is reduciblly mirrored (i.e., under stimulus control; hint) yet is metabolically idle (hint). Be sure to recommit (hint) to this organizing principle (hint) in waves of continuity (see principle of good continuity). Shaking may re-generalize due to habituation, so be sure to vary change (i.e., variable ratio scheduled reinforcement). When habituation starts attenuating polarization, equilibrium between both sides due to self-concept, obscures direct perception of interference patterns of side to side (i.e., proximodistal) and end to end (i.e., cephalocaudal) being processes (i.e., alaya consciousness). More on this another time. It is best to immediately meditate to allow direct insight following furitama, however the polarization concept deserves attention. | Shake with the holding side vigorously in such a way that the right mirrors the movement (hint) yet is metabolically idle (hint). Maintain polarity control; it is made more difficult at higher amplitudes, which may reveal structural weaknesses remaining during development. Extend polarity such that the entire physiology proximodistally from what was once the neural fold, now spine, through to tips of the fingers is under tension on one side (i.e., yang) and empty beyond “other” side (i.e., yin; do not skip tuning in any link). When muscle failure approaches or is nearly accessed, reverse sides. The “polarity” concept is a good hint for what comes next. | Maintain polarity; it is difficult at higher amplitudes. Extend the polarity such that the entire physiology proximodistally from what was the neural fold, now spine, through to tips of the fingers is polarized (do not skip tuning in any link). When muscle failure approaches or is nearly accessed, reverse side—reverse in a conscious manner, sometimes slow, sometimes quickly. Sometimes try for instantaneous polarity reversal[s]. The “polarity”, “reversal”, and “instantaneous” concepts are further hints for what builds on these. |

There are more advanced valences beyond this here, but this is the first it is being shared in the community of practice of general budo/aikido practitioners. Consider it a thank you for extending kindness, appreciation, and sincerity. It is noteworthy. Do the furitama, like Sensei instructs, “as long as you can”. Is it a secret? Of course. Was it relied on? Not in the least. I was merely waiting to see if someone would realize that’s what I was doing for years—waiting to see if someone could develop the perception to see it, because that’s where the real value is. It’s not as if Sensei didn’t already hint at it in Harmony of Nature which when abbreviated links to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. The learnings still evolve and mature, and this is decades old now. It’s amazing what can be hidden… in plain sight. | As mentioned, there are more advanced valences beyond this here, but this is the first this is being shared in the community of practice of general budo/aikido practitioners. As Sensei said, “gendo… [redacted]”. Good luck, for the benefit of limitless beings. Wellness is a measure of a human’s ability to express generosity, and generosity accompanies the enjoyment of what is given rather than giving away what is no longer enjoyed. | As Sensei said, “gendo… [redacted]”. This is… doing well… and it is deep. As for the shaman references, it’s a little more than that, it’s aiki, the inseparable meeting (i.e., joining) of emptiness and limitless creation, also known as… samsara. From the root Indic, sem- ser-, to flow with, and a deeper etymology from linguistic anthropology, “that which supports.” It writes itself, when I is temporarily suppressed while running jhanas, or is burned off by [redacted]. | Just this… is… doing well [done]… and it is deep[less][[ness]]. It’s not as if I gets out of the way, I is the center line of polarization… move it wisely. |
